About the NatureLab

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour. (William Blake)

the Takoma Park NatureLab serves as a community catalyst, inspiring engagement through the limitless patterns, structures, and processes found in the natural world.

Trading on inherent curiosity and acquisitive tendencies, our nature library forms the foundation of the NatureLab. Memories of summer days and evenings passed playing outside in towering trees and chasing lightning bugs, the NatureLab is a bridge between that world and our lab explorations in drawing, building, looking, evaluating, measuring, connecting, and making.

We believe in a STEAM-powered world and are busy integrating arts with science, technology, engineering and math.
